The Isaksimgagit Inuusirmi Katujjiqatigiit Embrace Life Council is a non-profit charitable organization whose mission is to support and encourage Nunavummiut to value life.
Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Program Coordinator will support the Embrace Life Council in fulfilling its mandate and responsibilities, including the implementation of the Nunavut Suicide Prevention Strategy Action Plan.
The position will ensure that communities are fully engaged with the ongoing activities of the Embrace Life Council. In addition, the Program Coordinator will work with various agencies and stakeholders to develop Nunavut-specific programs and resources.
Knowledge of Inuit communities and culture, and strong communication skills in Inuktut and English are essential. Knowledge of suicide prevention and community wellness are additional assets.
This position requires a very motivated individual with a capacity to work independently and at least a Grade 12 diploma and a minimum of two (2) years related work experience. Two years post-secondary education is desired.
This position has a salary of $70,000 per annum, plus a Northern Allowance of $19 716. The position is a term until March 31, 2017, with the possibility of renewal.
