This workshop aims to provide community members with information about:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"has-regular-font-size\">How to approach the topic of suicide with children<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-regular-font-size\">How children may respond to a death by suicide,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-regular-font-size\">How to discuss the death in an age-appropriate way and,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-regular-font-size\">The importance of self-care when dealing with this difficult subject.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-regular-font-size\">It is recommended, but not mandatory, that participants first gain confidence in talking about suicide<br>by attending a suicide intervention training such as Reach Out or ASIST\/Uqaqtigiiluk!. As it is a<br>half-day workshop, it can be offered on the same day as Reach Out if desired.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-secondary-dark-color has-text-color has-link-color has-big-font-size wp-elements-0b4c2a56645273e1b359b879a9e9197c\"><br><strong>What is unique about this workshop?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"has-regular-font-size\">Talking to Children about Suicide offers a child-focused approach to suicide postvention, something<br>which is often not touched on in other more general suicide awareness programming.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-big-font-size\"><br>Who is this workshop geared towards?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"has-regular-font-size\">This workshop is open to all community members aged 19 and older.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-big-font-size\"><br><strong>Training Process and Resources<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-regular-font-size\">Talking to Children about Suicide is a half-day workshop.
