for the Inuit men and boys of Nunavut.

The Atii Angutiit program launched in 2022 with the ultimate goal of having coordinators in all communities in the territory, who will become trained in delivering hands-on, cultural relevant, and safe programs for men. Coordinators also gain the skills to become a supporter, and hold discussions for healing and reflection.

All men in Nunavut are invited to join. However, coordinators also strongly encourage men who are at risk for suicide to participate in the program.

The Atii Angutiit Program Framework has been developed as part of the Government of Nunavut’s (GN) commitments under the Inuusivut Anninaqtuq Action Plan (Nunavut Partners in Suicide Prevention, 2017). It outlines the program goals, its guiding principles and structure, the responsibilities of sponsoring agencies receiving program funding, and the commitments of the GN in supporting the program.

IIKELC manages the Atii Angutiit Program within the Qikiqtaaluk Region only.
