A graphic novel for preteens, and for families to support a grieving child or youth

Over the years, IIKELC has received many requests for a resource to support families in talking to their children about suicide. In response to these requests, we have created a graphic novel called “Ikpigusungniq” that follows the story of a child attempting to understand and process this type of loss.

This book is also a companion to the IIKELC workshop “How to Talk to Children about Suicide“. The workshop describes how children are affected by grief and what families and friends can do to support a grieving child and/or youth.

We hope this resource can help families navigate these difficult conversations. Please know that you are not alone.

Ikpigusungniq is available in Inuktitut, English, Inuinnaqtun and French; you can request it by emailing embracelife@inuusiq.com.
