In honour of Embrace Life Day / World Suicide Prevention Day on September 10th the Isaksimagit Inuusirmi Katujjiqatigiit Embrace Life Council (IIKELC) is happy to announce that this year’s Mental Health Creative Writing Contest (MHCWC) is now open! The MHCWC is a contest for Nunavut residents to write stories that are meaningful to oneself, to others and inspires wellness in our communities.
The theme for the 2024 MHCWC is “Embracing Life“. This can be perceived in many creative ways. The following age groups of writers are invited to participate in this years contest.
Children ages: 8-13 – submission of a poem or a cartoon/comic strip (comic strip/ can be 2D, 3D, or Digital).
Youth ages: 14-18 – submission a poem or a short story
Adults ages: 19+ – submission of a short story (3 pages to 6 pages)

2nd Prize: Kindle & 1 Year Kindle Unlimited Subscription
3rd Prize: A $150 Scholastic Book Order
Youth Aged 14-18
1st Prize: ipad and Pen

Adults 19+
