This emergency funding has been allocated to several women’s shelters in Nunavut in 2020/2021: Iqaluit, Rankin Inlet, Kugluktuk, and Kugaaruk. Each women’s shelter offered cultural programming and/or counselling with elders to the women. ELC staff members have also offered some support to the women’s shelters in Iqaluit by offering emotional support with the healing groups.
